Business Development Manager - Gas
Location: Shanghai
Reports to: General Manager China
Purpose of the Job: The main job function is to
lead business as Gas champion in all industries. As well as to
develop new business opportunities in various industry sectors in
China, increase sales volumes through strategic customer base
development as well as effective management of sales cycle whilst
ensuring that company interests and legislative matters are
protected & fulfilled as per corporate policy and standard
processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identification & development of new business opportunities
in various industry sectors particular in gas rental
applications
- Act as gas champion for China territory and intermediate
between AI Head office and China Teams
- Achieve yearly revenue forecasts and profit targets
- Manage Sales Process for qualified enquiries, site visits &
surveys, liaise with internal departments, prepares sales
proposals, negotiates & closes sales contracts where
applicable
- Maximize sales channels with existing customers; develop new
sales leads
- Respond to public tenders & sales enquiries in respective
country
- Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers and
develop new potential customers for Aggreko in China to ensure
promotion of the Aggreko brand and reputation
- Visit sites, meet customers, sizes jobs and recommend solutions
in order to generate enquiries and new business opportunities
- Close cooperation with Company agents/distributors/consultants
or partners related to technical/commercial matters during tender
or project execution process as to ensure efficient & proper
business practices
- Prepare monthly reports, sales forecasts, competitive market
reviews and competitor analysis
- Aggreko place a strong emphasis on health, operational safety
and environmental protection. It is a requirement and moral
obligation of each employee to be actively committed and
accountable for compliance to the Aggreko Health, Safety &
Environmental policies, operating procedures and compliance to
local legislation.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts within customers and
industries in India / China and to be aware of opportunities up to
3 years out
- Liaison with Country Manager / General Manager / National Sales
Managers / BDM’s / Sales Engineers in China to exchange information
of Markets and to develop potential opportunities;
- Assist in market analysis and research required to develop
business strategy plans
- Attend conferences, seminars & trade shows to promote and
raise awareness of company products & services
- Monitor Environmental and Legislative regulations and relevant
notifications/updates in respective country
- Competitors Analysis, intelligence gathering & regular
market observation for potential business opportunities
- Assist in other duties as necessary
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor degree, preferably in Engineering
background
- Experience in Gas Power Generation is a must
- Commercial & Technical skills / experience
- At least 7-10 years experience in sales/business development
role in similar industry
- Ability to understand technical & engineering applications
in power and energy industry
- Proven track of record in closing sales, negotiating contracts
& experienced in tender bidding process with governmental or
non-gov. agencies/companies
- Experience in developing business strategy plans & market
studies
- Sufficient knowledge in financial terms, P&L, proposal
drafting & contractual legal/commercial terms &
matters
- Able to communicate with senior or top level members of a
company in various sectors
